WHO AM I?

IMG_7251_edited_edited.jpg

Embarking on a journey of self-discovery is best done with a caring guide, much like the experiences I had with my drama teachers growing up. Firm but fairly, I ensure to prioritize my students, creating a safe and welcoming drama classroom in which they can play, explore, create, and imagine.

It is natural for me to keep relationships at my core and grow strong connections with youth, which is one of the many reasons I feel called to teach. I aim to promote powerful learning that motivates my students to succeed. As I continue to develop my own pedagogy and disciplinary skills, I am also committed to inspiring a lifelong love of learning.

I believe that having experience both on and behind the stage, combined with the joy I get from helping children understand themselves and others, I will create a learning environment that prioritizes fun, exploring, community, and dedication.

My most fond memories are of teachers who were passionate and thoughtful. You could tell that they were doing what they were meant to do, that teaching was a part of who they were. The self-awareness of their life experiences and knowledge promoted connection to our own lives and made the work we did relevant and meaningful.

"Teaching holds a mirror to the soul." (Palmer, 1997)
